TRC: Potluck and lots of Saturday Details
Good evening Tuckahoe Families,
Remember tomorrow is the Informal Friday "Potluck". For any parents interested, please join other swim team families on the hill Friday evening for a 'socially-distanced social'. You will, of course, bring your own food and beverages, and you will need to sign up for a 5:00-6:45 pm flight/time slot through the pool website.
Saturday’s meet information
This Saturday is the second meet of the season. There is a lot of information so please read carefully. Also, please remember to follow the CDC guideline of wearing masks at all times and social distancing in the parking lot. We will enforce the pool policy to ask swimmers to leave if they do not follow these guidelines. Thank you for your understanding.
*Volunteers still needed for 2nd half recorders. (need 3 more)
Late Sign-Up
Did you miss the sign-up and your child still wants to swim? Deck entries will be allowed IF there is space available in a lane. Please have a COACH/TEAM REP bring your swimmer to the table to determine if there is an open lane. Please note that it is possible that your swimmer will be placed in an event with older swimmers.
Heat Sheet for Meet
Attached is the meet sheet for Saturday's meet. Please note that in order to ensure the meet runs smoothly and efficiently there are some events where your swimmer is swimming with an older age group.
The following events have swimmers in older age groups:
- 8&Under girls Fly
- 11-12 girls fly - swimming 15-18 girls
- 13-14 girls fly - swimming 15-18 girls
- 13-14 Boys back, breast, fly and IM swimming 15-18
Remember that IM is a 10 & under event.
Meet Mobile
Also, our meet will be available on Meet Mobile which we are hoping to run live results as we go. For those of you that are not familiar with Meet Mobile please see attached information about sign-up for the app.
Reminder: Warm-up Schedule & Protocol

9-10s - 7:20 - 7:35am
11-12s - 7:40 - 7:55am
13 &Ups - 8:00 - 8:20am
- Please arrive 10 minutes before your warmup time
- Please park by the summer bathhouse as Clerk of Course will be in the parking lot closest to the pump house entrance
- Five minutes before your swimmers warmup time, walk them to the pump house entrance area (same routine as morning practice)
- Please remember to bring sweatshirts or other clothing to keep swimmers warm when in the car between their events. Also, bring water bottles and snacks for your swimmers so they can stay hydrated throughout the meet.
- After swimmers finish their warmup, they will exit the pool deck. Please meet them by the exit gate and walk them safely back to your cars.
- As always, masks must be worn at all times (except when swimming), and please practice social distancing!
Line up and Transition Changes
There will be 4 Clerk of Course (CoC) volunteers in the parking lot to ensure the team is practicing social distancing. ***Remember masks are to be worn at all times.***
Swimmers will line up under the 3 tents in the parking lot and one on the deck based on their heat assignments. We are planning to have markers with lane numbers 1-6 (spaced out 6 ft from each other) in all 4 clerk of course tents. The CoC volunteer will send lane 1 swimmer (w/ parent) first, give them a few seconds, then lane 2, etc., until the entire event is up on pool deck under the tent. That way the kids can stay physically distant while in clerk of course tents AND transitioning.
All kids swimming 25 meters will need a parent to get their mask and shoes at the upper deck clerk of course tent. Swimmers competing in 50-meter events should keep their mask on until they get to the other end, where they can leave their things while they swim. To keep the flow of people going in one direction, we do not want kids or parents who have already swum to have to come back to upper CoC to get personal items.
