André Passos - Team Rep

Hi, I’m André Passos, and I’m thrilled to return to the Tuckahoe Swim Team as a Team Rep! As someone with a lifelong love for swimming and a background as both a competitive swimmer and passionate supporter of the sport, I’m excited to contribute to such a dedicated and winning team.

You probably know of me, screaming “Vai Vivi!” on deck at any given meet. The question is: will I be able to hold it back from the Team Rep’s seats?

When my family and I joined Tuckahoe in 2021, we fell in love with the camaraderie, seeing the big kids care for the little ones, and now I look forward to fostering team spirit, supporting our athletes, and continuing Tuckahoe’s tradition of excellence in the NVSL. 

When I'm not at Tuckahoe, I'm immersed in our community through my landscaping company, The Grounds Guys.

Rebecca Metcalf - Team Rep

I’m Rebecca Metcalf and I’m very excited to a team rep this season. I’m still pretty new to swimming; I grew up playing volleyball and rowed for a year in college, so I’ve had to get used to wet swimsuits and towels adorning my house. My kids, Ellie (9-10) and Charlie (8&U), love swimming, and one of the best things we ever did as a family was join Tuckahoe. The community is incredible!

We joined during COVID, and when we put Ellie into Little Tigers, I told Coach Torey that we wouldn’t be able to make many practices because of how far we live from Tuckahoe. His response was, “Well, isn’t 1 day of swim instruction better than zero?” That was the open door we needed to become swim team members, and we’ve never looked back. Both of my kids came through Little Tigers/the junior swim team development program—a huge benefit of our community that I cannot recommend enough.

Outside of team rep responsibilities, I consult to the Department of Defense, where I provide my clients guidance on how to improve the health and well-being of our nation’s Service members. I grew up in Chicago (any Midwestern transplants out there?) and have now spent about 15 years living in the D.C. area. Looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you this summer.
