Hello Tuckahoe Families,

This is a jam-packed email full of important volunteer information for this season. Please read!

• Black and Gold Meet volunteer job signup is open - please try to have at least one adult from your family volunteer if you have a child swimming that day. It is a large meet and we need many helpers. This is the best opportunity to get comfortable with meet volunteer positions such as timing, clerk of course, and table data entry. No experience necessary for most positions and training will be provided. Then link for sign up is: https://tuckahoeswimteam.swimtopia.com/manage/swim_meets/328659/calendar_event_jobs  
• This season - 8 of the 15 hours of volunteer time required per family (not per swimmer) must be fulfilled during swim meets. Though social activities such as potlucks and Fun Fridays are important - making sure we have all volunteers necessary to run the meets is critical. If you have no or very little experience with swim meets - you will have many opportunities to learn at Black and Gold and Monday Meets in particular. 
• A virtual volunteer meeting will be offered in the next week - new families are strongly encouraged to try to attend one of two of these Zoom meetings to quickly review volunteer options and answer questions you may have about the season in general. • A second session will be planned for 8pm on Wednesday 6/9 (link will be shared at a later date). If you cannot either session, a recorded session can be shared with you. 
• Our team is still in need of filling a few coordinator positions. If you are interested, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator Elaine Kelley ([email protected]) for more info 
  • 1. Fun Friday Coordinator: Organizes a variety of activities (scavenger hunt, relay races, etc) on Fridays after practices for younger swimmers. (15 hrs) 
  • 2. Progressive Dinner - for parents of 13 yrs and up 
  • 3. Carnival Coordinator - a new activity this year in place of Movie day. Coordinator will plan and attend the event June 22 - contact Elaine for more info (15 hrs).
