Hello Tuckahoe Swim Team Families,

Wait! A second swim team email in less than a month? That can only mean one thing: Summer Swim Season is right around the corner!!

So, enjoy this update before our swimmers are lined up for Black & Gold! There are three important action points for you:

Open House — Saturday, May 2, 1:00–3:00 PM

Location: Tuckahoe Pool Deck Join us for our Swim Team Open House on Saturday, May 2, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Tuckahoe pool deck. It’s a great chance for both new and returning families to stop by, ask questions, and get ready for the season. This year, we'll have five stations for you to dive into:

• Team Reps Table: Meet this season’s reps, ask any questions, and pick up the practice and meet calendar to start planning.
• Swim Gear Display: Unsure about which fins, snorkel, or suit to choose? Wondering what a swim paddle is? You can learn about all the gear your swimmer needs for practices and meets, with help from some of our own swimmers.
• Swim Cap Decoration: Every swimmer will get a latex swim cap with a small paw logo to decorate and wear during practice. We’ll have markers for kids to make their caps unique and show off their tiger spirit.
• Sport Fair will be on site, selling Tuckahoe Swim Suits, gear, and other goodies, including the always popular Jolyn suits. The official Tuckahoe swimsuits are the same black Arenas as in previous years.

Finally, we’re launching the Tuckahoe Tiger Trading Post, where families can exchange or donate swim gear, suits, and other equipment that are still in good shape but no longer fit. Bring any items you’d like to share, and feel free to pick up anything your swimmer might need this season.

Parent Social — Saturday, May 9, 3:30–6:30 PM

Location: The Farm Brewery at Broad Run. We’re happy to invite all swim team parents to our 3rd Annual Parent Social on Saturday, May 9, from 3:30 to 6:30 PM at The Farm Brewery at Broad Run. SignUp is posted: click here to join us!

This is a great chance to meet other swim parents, reconnect with friends, and build the team spirit that makes Tuckahoe special. We especially want to welcome the new parents. It’s a fun and easy way to get to know other families early in the season. Wine, cocktails, beer, and, naturally, non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Sandwiches and light snacks are included. (While the whole season is about our kids, this one event does not include them!)

Participation is only $35 per person. We will have optional bus transportation leaving Tuckahoe at 2:30 PM, returning around 7:15 PM, for an additional $15 per person.

We will also have a special activity during the event: a 🪓 hatchet-throwing bracket, with bragging rights on the line for the most accurate thrower. Nothing says “summer swim parent bonding” quite like friendly competition.
