Tuckahoe Swim Team Families ,

Happy first week of May! This can only mean one thing: the 2026 summer swim season is upon us at long last. We are thrilled to welcome you back to the pool this week for our first week of Swim Team practice. Read below for some helpful "headlines" + a few reminders as we start the season.

Swim Team Practice Begins this Week (T-Th, Saturday), Little Tigers Practice Begins Next Week

Our Swim Team practice schedule runs this week from Tuesday, May 5th through Thursday, May 7th with Saturday practice on May 9th. There is NO Swim Team practice Monday, May 4th nor Friday, May 8th. For planning purposes, we will follow this same T-Th + Saturday practice schedule through the month of May.

Tuesday - Thursday:

11 and Over: 4:30 - 5:30PM

10 and Under: 5:30 to 6:30 PM

Saturday:

11 and Over: 9:00-10:00AM

10 and Under: 10:00 - 11:00AM

There is no Little Tigers Practice this week. We will see all of our Little Tigers families next week beginning Tuesday, May 12th. Little Tigers do not practice on Saturdays.

Finally, a note about your swimmers' gear. Please make sure you label everything with your swimmer's name and please do a quick "check" of your swimmer's equipment after practice to make sure it made it back into their swim bag. The first few weeks of practice are very busy as kids are moving around the pool; please make sure your gear comes home with you. If it is left at the pool, we will move it to the lost and found which is currently next to the water fountain near the indoor pool.  

Swim Team Social — Saturday, May 9, 3:30–6:30 PM

Please join us at The Farm Brewery at Broad Run this coming Saturday afternoon. We’re happy to invite all swim team parents *and Little Tiger parents* to our 3rd Annual Parent Social on Saturday, May 9, from 3:30 to 6:30 PM SignUp is posted: click here to join us! 

Note that while previous communications limited this event to parents-only, we've received some requests for parents to bring their children due to spring sports and a Hydra swim meet happening that day. Please feel free to bring your children to the event, especially if it means that you're able to attend. We'd love to see you and the brewery is very family friendly.

Participation is only $35 per person. We will have optional bus transportation leaving Tuckahoe at 2:30 PM, returning around 7:15 PM, for an additional $15 per person. 

We will also have a special activity during the event: a hatchet-throwing bracket, with bragging rights on the line for the most accurate thrower. Nothing says “summer swim parent bonding” quite like friendly competition.

Open House Summary + Cap/T-Shirt Distribution

We enjoyed seeing so many of you at last weekend's open house! We know some of you did not yet receive your caps; we will hand them out to you over the next few weeks of practice. We are also expecting our T-shirt shipment soon so will hand those out as well. 

Back by Popular Demand: the Tiger Trading Post

Our Tiger Trading Post, where families were able to donate old Tuckahoe gear and swim equipment, was so popular at last week's Open House that we are going to bring it back for the Black and Gold meet (+ other opportunities throughout the season). For now, please round up your gently used Tuckahoe merchandise that you no longer want and old swim equipment (fins, suits, snorkels, etc.) and bring them to Black and Gold on June 13th. More information will be sent soon about that intrasquad meet.

Save the Date for the 1st Annual Tuckahoe Tigers Golden Goggles Golf Classic

Please mark your calendars for May 31st at 10AM for our inaugural Swim Team + Little Tiger parent golf outing. Location is the Twin Lakes Golf Course (Lakes Course); more information will be sent soon on format, tee times, awards, and fees. All Tuckahoe parents of current registered and former Swim Team and Little Tiger swimmers are welcome to participate as well as current/former Tuckahoe Swimmers aged 17 and over.
