What a great Black & Gold weekend! Our time trials ran smoothly; new timers were trained; new volunteers helped immensely with setup; and the bleachers added 50% more space for our spectators. And more importantly, our kids swam well! So well that Torey was feeling great about our roster when I met him on Sunday.
Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen; these meets only happen because our families step in.
A Big Cleanup Reminder
We especially need help after meets with cleanup. Even a few extra hands for 10–15 minutes makes a huge difference. Please stick around for a while after the last heat. Help us reset the pool deck, collect equipment, clean up trash, and leave Tuckahoe looking great.
Team Shirts Are Ready for Pickup
If your swimmers have not picked up their team shirts during Black & Gold, please come find the Team Reps at practice. We will have shirts available during practice times this week.
Saturday Meet at Oakton Otters:
This Saturday we hit the road to our first dual meet of the season. Specific information about the meet and the post-meet lunch will be sent out tomorrow.
Swim Team Fun Day: June 23
We have a big team day coming up on Tuesday, June 23, with Picture Day, Pancake Breakfast, and a Movie Outing! There will not be any swim practices on this day.

- 7:30 am - Swim Individual/Sibling pictures
- 8:00 am - Swim Team Photo
- 8:30 am - remaining individual pictures

- Pancake Breakfast!
- The most cherished breakfast of all summer! Rolling right on the heels of the team picture.
- Swim Team Movie Outing!
- Movie: Toy Story 5
- Time: 1pm, please plan to arrive between 12:15 and 12:45 for a smooth check-in.
- Location: Regal Ballston Quarter, 671 North Glebe Road, Arlington, VA 22203. Theater TBD.
- Ticket Price: $15. Purchase your tickets here, and attendees will be checked off at the theater door.
- This is not a drop-off event for 10&unders. A guardian is required for all 10&u attending.
- Little Tigers are absolutely invited to attend this event - it is a fun experience that has been a huge success in recent years and gives the kids an opportunity to bond out of the water!

Our next swim meet is against Oakton. More information, including meet details, timing, and potluck allocation, will come tomorrow.

Swimsuit & Swim Cap Reminder
A quick recap of the NVSL rules and our team expectations:
NVSL allows swimmers to compete in swimsuits that include the name or logo of another team, such as a high school or PVS club team. However, swimmers may not compete in a swim cap that includes the name or insignia of any team other than their NVSL team. Girls’ Tie-back suits are not allowed, and the swimmer will be disqualified.
For Tuckahoe swimmers competing against OKM this week, everyone must have a Tuckahoe swim cap. We have free latex ones available, and a handful of silicone caps for sale. We would also prefer swimmers to wear the Tuckahoe team suit.
Please check your swimmer’s bag before the meet so we do not have any last-minute cap issues behind the blocks.
Team Store + Special 250th Fourth of July Shirt
Our apparel provider had some difficulties operating this spring, as they were moving offices and warehouses, delaying our team shirts deliveries and the setup of the team store. The good news is that it will be up and running tonight!
In the meantime, we developped our special 250th Fourth of July shirt! It is ready to order. There are two prints to choose from, and both are available in Red, White, and Blue. Select your print, color, size, and quantity by “signing up” for your selection
