First Dual Meet Swimmers & List of Signups for you
Hello Tuckahoe Families,
Our first Saturday Dual Meet of the season is almost here! As usual, please read carefully, as there are several important details and deadlines for this weekend.
Selected Swimmers for Saturday’s A Meet
Please see the attached list of selected swimmers for this Saturday’s A Meet at Old Keene Mill. If your swimmer is NOT available to swim on Saturday, please email the Team Reps no later than noon tomorrow so that an alternate swimmer can be selected.
Please do not tell your swimmer yet that they are swimming on Saturday. Coach Torey will let swimmers know on Friday if they are swimming in the meet. The official meet sheet will be distributed by the Team Reps via email tomorrow night.
Tuckahoe @ Old Keene Mill Meet Timeline
7:15 AM sharp — Arrive at Tuckahoe- Have your kids check in with the Team Reps before entering the club. Please let the Team Reps know in advance if you plan to head straight to the meet.
7:20 AM — Team Meeting in the Tuckahoe Pavilion
7:30 AM sharp — Team Caravan to Old Keene Mill Swim & Racquet Club 9534 Orion Ct, Burke, VA 22015
8:00 AM — Arrival at OKM
8:10 AM — Catwalk Entrance - Parents, please line the entrance walkway toward the pool and cheer on our swimmers as they enter. Noisemakers are not allowed.
8:25 AM — Tuckahoe Warmups
9:00 AM — Meet Start
Meet Theme: Slumber Party
Post-Meet Lunch at Clare & Don’s Beach Shack
Please join us after the meet for lunch at Clare & Don’s Beach Shack in Falls Church.
Location: 130 North Washington Street, Falls Church
Cost: $23 per person, including tax and tip
Signup Deadline: Thursday, June 18 at 5:00 PM
The buffet will include cheese quesadillas, buffalo chicken wings, cheeseburger sliders, pepperoni flatbread pizza, teriyaki chicken skewers, fruit, and vegetables.
Drinks are not included. Families who would like to order drinks, including alcoholic beverages, will need to open a separate tab at the bar.

Meet Information from OKM
Parking
Most of the parking lot will be reserved for Tuckahoe, but spaces are limited. There is unrestricted street parking outside the pool. Please pay attention to driveways and posted “No Parking” signs.
Concessions
OKM will offer a limited selection of breakfast items, including burritos, donuts, and bagels, along with the usual sugary treats. Their concession stand is cashless and accepts credit cards and Apple Pay. There is a $3 minimum purchase.
Spectator Seating
Spectators cannot sit along the side of the competition course, simply because that area is water. There will be two sets of bleachers, one for each team, at the turn-end corners of the pool. OKM does not have a lawn area, but there is plenty of concrete deck space for teams and spectators to spread out.
Friday Potluck — June 19 at 6:00 PM
Join us Friday evening for our team potluck!
Parents, please help your kids get food first, then come up to the hill to mix and mingle with other parents. It is a great way to end the week, welcome new families, and get excited for Saturday’s meet.
Please bring enough food to serve 8–10 people. Use plastic or metal containers when possible, and avoid breakable dishware such as glass or ceramic. Please remember to take home your containers and utensils afterward.
By 8:00 PM, all Saturday swimmers should head home for a good night’s rest.
Potluck Food Assignments by Last Name
A–F: Main Dish Pasta, BBQ, meatballs, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza
G–L: Side Dish Mac-n-cheese, corn on the cob, beans, rice
M–R: Salad Green salad, Caesar salad, pasta salad
S–Z: Fruit Watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, grapes, berries
Important Reminders with Urgent Action Needed
- Please sign up for Saturday’s post-meet lunch by Thursday at 5:00 PM (see above).
- This Friday’s practices are in the afternoon at the same times.
- There is no Little Tigers practice this Friday. Little Tigers’ families are encouraged to come to the potluck!
- Morning practices begin on Monday, June 22.
- Make-ups begin on June 30
