Tuckahoe vs. Oakton--Saturday Meet Sheet, Potluck, and Important Home Meet Reminders
Good evening Tiger families,
Its here! Our second dual meet of the season. Did you know that Tigers love water? Tigers are incredibly confident in the water and will often use it to their advantage. Good thing because the weather forecast for this weekend is looking a bit...wet...but that wont stop us from doing what we do best in the pool.
Attached is this Saturday's official meet sheet. Remember to please hold off on telling your swimmer if they are swimming this weekend; the coaches will let them know tomorrow at practice. If your swimmer isn't swimming, we'd love to still see you on Saturday morning (poncho and all). We need everyone's help cheering for the black and gold!
Andre's email last night covered our theme "Ice Out" so please refer to that email for more information on Saturday's meet theme. And please watch the weather forecast closely as Saturday gets closer. There's a high likelihood that you'll need your rain boots and rain coats.
This is a lengthy email with some important reminders as we head into the weekend. Please read it all and let us know if you have any questions.

- Choice of sausage, bacon, or vegetarian
- The vegetarian option includes eggs, potatoes, and cheese.
Get yours now: Post-Meet Lunch 6/27
Please note that since this is our first home meet of the season, we need everyone to pitch in to support post-meet clean up before we eat lunch. We will have dedicated clean-up volunteers but if everyone can move 1-2 chairs back to their place or pick up 1-2 pieces of trash after the meet, that will enable us to get to lunch faster. Thank you in advance!
Potluck - Friday, June 26th @ 6:00 PM
We are still planning to host Friday's potluck! Keep an eye on the WhatsApp Group and Swimtopia alerts in case of storms. Its not too late to download the Swimtopia app and/or join the WhatsApp group!
Bring your food to the Pavilion; swimmers have priority over parents, and little ones over older swimmers.
Team Reps invite parents to help with the meet setup, then join them on the hill for some adult conversation. BYO food, snacks, and beverages (remember, no glass containers.) The grills will be hot, too! Refer to the Friday Night Meats text on the Whatsapp group thread for more information.
Please bring enough food to serve 8-10 people. Use plastic/metal containers and avoid using breakable dishware like glass or ceramic. Remember to bring home your containers and utensils. By 8:00 pm all swimmers go home to get a good night's rest!
Potluck Food Assignments [by Last Name]:
A–F: Fruit (Watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, grapes, berries, etc.)
G–L: Main Dish (Pasta, BBQ, meatballs, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, etc.)
M–R: Side Dish (Mac-n-cheese, corn on the cob, beans, rice, etc.)
S–Z: Salad (Green salad, Caesar salad, pasta salad, etc.)
But before the potluck....we have Fun Friday!
Reference Andre's email last night but tomorrow's 8AU practice will end at 9:30AM tomorrow. Coaches will read the meet sheet on the hill and then swimmers will do cheers and whirlpool (don't know what that is? Come check it out ;) ) After cheers, 10AU kids should head up to the Hill where our Fun Friday coordinators, Amanda and Laura, have something very fun planned. Little Tigers are part of the 10AU group so we'd love to see you all there for this fun Tuckahoe tradition.
A Few Very Important Logistical Reminders
1. Andre's email last night included a new parking procedure we're trying out this year. Yes, we have one of the largest parking lots in the NVSL. Yes, everyone will still get a parking spot! We are just asking that all Tuckahoe families NOT park in the first row of parking as you enter the lot and are headed toward the summer bath house. Those spots will be officially reserved for Oakton. Instead, please park on the 2nd and 3rd row (the exit row) and by the winter bath house.
2. No noisemakers this year (i.e., no drums, no cowbells, no horns, etc.) during swim meets. Please leave them at home and instead come ready to cheer!
3. Tuckahoe is making a concerted effort to provide equitable seating for our visiting teams. We will be using our bleachers to provide that seating this summer at our A meets; please respect and obey all signage.
Oakton is new to D1 this year so let's make sure we give them a Tuckahoe-sized welcome on Saturday!
Your Reps,
Andre & Rebecca
