Hello Tuckahoe Families,

Another week, another great performance by our Tigers!

Saturday’s meet certainly had a few unexpected twists along the way, but our swimmers stayed focused, rose to every challenge, and delivered another convincing team victory. Every race, every cheer, every volunteer, and every family contributed to another strong showing. Thank you all for helping keep the momentum rolling!

🇺🇸 This Saturday: Tuckahoe vs. Overlee

This Saturday we have the privilege of hosting Overlee on a very special day—the 250th birthday of the United States! There’s something pretty special about celebrating Independence Day with a Division 1 swim meet at Tuckahoe, and we can’t wait to see our pool deck full of black, gold, and a little red, white, and blue.

Important: Earlier Start Time

Due to the ongoing heat wave, the meet will begin 30 minutes earlier than usual to help keep everyone safer and more comfortable.

Meet Day Timeline – Saturday, July 4

• 7:15 AM sharp – Tuckahoe swimmers arrive
• 7:30 AM – Marshals on deck
• 7:30–7:50 AM – Tuckahoe warm-ups
• 7:45 AM – Officials briefing (Board Room)
• 7:50 AM – Timer briefing (Pavilion)
• 7:55–8:15 AM – Overlee warm-ups
• 8:20 AM – All volunteers in position
• 8:25 AM – National Anthem
• 8:30 AM – Meet begins
• Approximately 11:00 AM – Meet concludes and cleanup begins

Please arrive on time so we can keep the morning running smoothly and get everyone out of the heat as early as possible.

🎆 A Quick Pool Deck Reminder

To help prepare the club for the Fourth of July festivities later in the day, the Board has asked that bags and personal belongings not be left on chaises on deck or chairs on the hill to reserve space. Please keep your items together with you during lunch and help us keep the pool deck welcoming for everyone.

🌯 Post-Meet Lunch

Speaking of lunch, after celebrating America’s birthday in the competition pool, it seems only fitting to celebrate with… a completely traditional American burrito! 🇺🇸🌯

Join us immediately after the meet on the lower grill patio for our post-meet lunch catered by Chipotle.

Lunch includes a chicken, steak, or veggie burrito, filled with black beans, cheese, and fresh tomato salsa, and chips, green chili salsa, and sour cream on the side.

Cost: $15 per person

Please reserve and prepay for everyone in your family who plans to attend.

🏊 Monday Meet — July 6
Kent Gardens visits Tuckahoe for another exciting Monday evening meet. Monday meets are where our entire team comes together, so come ready to swim, cheer, and have fun!

🏆 Division 1 Relay Carnival — Wednesday, July 8
Our Tigers head to Chesterbrook to defend our Division 1 relay tradition. Relay Carnival is one of the most exciting events of the season, and we’d love to see a big crowd of Tuckahoe families cheering from the stands!

😴 No Practice — Thursday, July 9
After Relay Carnival, everyone gets a well-earned morning off. Enjoy the extra sleep!

🎉 Progressive Dinner (Ages 13 & Over) — Saturday, July 11
One of the favorite traditions of the summer returns!

• 4:45 PM – Smaller group pictures with your swim besties
• 5:00 PM – Mandatory smile for the Team picture
• Then it’s off on the bus for an evening celebrating America’s 250th birthday with appetizers at McManus’, Farm-to-table dinner at Bartkowski’s, and dessert with State Fair Fun at the Lopez’.
• 9:15 PM – Return to Tuckahoe

🐯 Little Tigers Mini Meet — Sunday, July 12 | 8:30 AM
Our Little Tigers will take on Donaldson Run and High Point in one of the cutest events of the summer! Come cheer on our future stars as they race, dive, and show off everything they’ve learned this season. Additional details will be sent directly to Little Tiger families.

🌅 Morning Make-Up Practices

The coaches are once again offering 7:00 AM make-up practices on selected mornings for swimmers who are unable to attend their regular practice time. Please note:

• Open to Swim Team members only (not Little Tigers).
• A minimum of five swimmers must be registered for a practice to be held.
