We hope everyone is doing their best to stay cool today! Attached is the meet sheet for Saturday's A meet against Overlee. It is a home meet for us so, as always, we invite you to come cheer on our swimmers as we welcome the Flying Fish to our pool. Remember that the coaches will be letting our kids know if they are swimming tomorrow during practice (and what they are swimming) so we ask you to continue to refrain from telling your kids just yet.

As we always do with our Thursday emails, we wanted to pass on a few important reminders ⏱️as we head into the weekend. 

 Meet Day Timeline: Saturday, July 4th (Happy 250th birthday, America! 🎆)

As you saw from Andre's email earlier this week, we have approval from the NVSL to start our meet 30 minutes earlier. The timeline below reflects our earlier start.

Meet theme: Founding Fathers

7:15AM sharp – Tuckahoe swimmer arrival at Tuckahoe (note: all swimmers MUST check in with a rep. Please be on time; if your swimmer(s) arrives late, they do not get the benefit of a full warm up and we are not permitted additional warm-up time).

7:30 AM – Tuckahoe Marshals In Position on Deck

7:30 AM – Referee Briefing with Team Reps

7:30–7:50 AM – Tuckahoe Warm-up

7:45 AM – Table Workers and Clerk of Course Briefing

7:45 AM – Officials Briefing in Board Room

7:50 AM – Timer Briefing at Tuckahoe Grill Pavilion

7:55 AM – Overlee Team Marshals In Position on Deck

7:55–8:15 AM – Overlee Warm-up 

8:20 AM – Officials, Timers, Clerks, Table Volunteers in Position

8:25 AM – National Anthem 

8:30 AM – Meet Starts 

11:00 AM – Estimated finish time

Post-Meet Lunch (at Tuckahoe) + 4th of July Instructions from Club Management

Please read this section in full. We need everyone's understanding and cooperation so we can be good stewards of our shared club space on the busiest day of the year for TRC! 

Back by popular demand, upon conclusion of the meet, we will be staying at Tuckahoe and having Chipotle!

Get yours now: Post-Meet Lunch 7/4

Because it is a holiday, Chipotle cannot deliver our burritos until 11:15AM at the earliest. While we're waiting, we need everyone's help cleaning up; please consider taking 1-2 chairs back into their usual place. As always, we will have dedicated clean up volunteers but the sooner we can put the club back together, the sooner we can eat lunch and the sooner we can open TRC for the 4th of July festivities.

Speaking of, TRC Management has sent every member multiple emails outlining the procedures for the 4th of July. We must all abide by these rules. Therefore, here is a reminder of the club policy + timeline from the time the meet ends until the club opens to all members.

11AM (approx.) – Estimated meet finish time

11AM - 11:15AM – Clean up (parents pitch in to make this go faster; swimmers go under the Pavilion to stay in the shade)

11:15 - 11:30AM – Post-meet lunch is served on the lower patio and under the Pavilion

11:30AM (or whenever we finish clean-up): TRC management opens the club to the full membership.

*REMINDER*: All swim team members must keep their bags, towels, and gear with them during the meet/at the Pavilion during lunch and cannot pre-reserve chairs or tables on the hill.  TRC management will be doing a walk through before the club can re-open after our meet and will remove anything used to reserve chairs/tables/space on the hill. Thanks in advance for your understanding and acknowledgement.

Fun Friday and Potluck, Friday July 3rd

Its going be hot 🥵 but we are still planning to hold Fun Friday and the Potluck. For the Potluck, please refer to Andre's email earlier this week for assignments.

We've made some adjustments to Fun Friday to keep our swimmers cool and safe. We will have ice pops and prizes under the Pavilion as well as a few games in the intermediate pool. If you want to sit the pool part out and just come find our Fun Friday leads, Amanda and Laura, under the Pavilion for a cold treat and a 4th of July prize that works too!

Staying Cool Tomorrow

We'd like to ask all families to help keep our swimmers cool tomorrow. We've got a busy day with practices, Fun Friday, and the Potluck but there is a big break between practice and the Potluck. Please consider using that time to give your kids a break from the heat. We need everyone fresh and rested for Saturday's dual meet!

If you ordered one of the patriotic shirts, please come to Fun Friday (if you are 10AU) and/or Friday’s Potluck to pick it up with the Team Reps before the holiday weekend. And wear it on Saturday, during our meet with Overlee!
